  After five blog posts (this being my 5th one), I personally think I need to improve my posts. To be honest, I did not think I would be using blogs for assignments in my English 1102 class. It has always been about essays after essays until I came into this class this semester. When writing my blogs, I try to meet all the requirements on the given rubric in class. The areas I succeed is responding to the instructions and listing references. The areas where I have trouble is containing images, meeting the word count, and my grammar. When it comes to a blog, one can insert various images and I do not know how to do that properly because it's my first time doing this. One thing I learned about blogs is that it doesn't have to be written like an essay. Now, that for me is difficult not to do because that is what I've been used to doing, writing essays. The Barbados is a member of the British Commonwealth meaning its government is based on the British parliamentary system. Its population consists of 92.4 % of African and African-European descent, 2.7% of white or British descent, and the rest consists of Indian, Asian, and other descents. African descent takes a huge role in the population due to the plantations of tobacco and sugar cane. Most Africans were brought from places like West Africa. At first, the British tried to grow tobacco in the soils of the Barbados but the quality of the tobacco was not good. Until the 1640s, they discovered sugar with the help of the Dutch.            The Bahamas is an island located in the Caribbean sea, off the east code of Florida and Northeast of Cuba. It is also an archipelagic Commonwealth nation. The Bahamas has about 330,000 inhabitants with 90% of them being African descendants. Imagine with that big of a percentage, it has one wondering if African people were the first to inhabit the island or if there were people before them.      With that said, the Bahamas was first conquered by the Spanish. The famous explorer, Christopher Columbus, had discovered  an island located southeast of the Bahamas which he later named it San Salvador Island. Then, the years went by and the British colonized the Bahamas in 1629. Up until the early 1700s, pirates wanted to establish and colonize the Bahamas. But Woodes Rogers, an English sea captain, kicked the pirates out colonized the Bahamas as a crown colony in 1718. Around the late 1700s, loyalists from Britain would move to the Bahamas along with their African slaves. Adding on

      Puerto Rico, it is an island found  in the Caribbean. It is known as "La isla del encanto" or "the island of enchantment".  Also, Puerto Rico is known for its beautiful beaches since it is "the island of enchantment".        In order to travel to Puerto Rico, those who are U.S citizens coming from the mainland to the island just need a valid government-issued ID, a birth certificate or driver's license. Those who are coming from other countries other than the U.S, need a passport and a visa to enter Puerto Rico. Due to the pandemic, one must now demonstrate a negative Covid-19 test result within 72 hours of arriving to the island.                    My name is Nalleli Niz and I am 20 years old.  Currently, I am a student at Georgia Gwinnett College and I am majoring in Nursing. More specifically, I wish to become a Neonatal Nurse. So far, this is my first year but I have many more to go.  I was born and raised in Georgia.
